Anya Sleeves & Collars: Professional Design work before Project Runway.

Curiously, Anya claims Design Education at Parson's School of Design... http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway/season-9/designer-portfolios?designer=2

It is true that Anya employed sample makers and seamstresses, like almost all designers do, before auditioning at Project Runway, however some people complain that she has a lack of sewing experience with collars and sleeves. Here are some pictures from pre-Project Runway showing some garments with sleeves and a collar. Really, sleeves are just some more fabric encircling a body part, a "skirt" for the arms. They are not that hard to do, if you want to do them. The very first McCall's sewing pattern I ever used was a "Hawaiian Shirt" with short sleeves and a collar -- the sleeves came out perfectly, first try. I needed to make a half dozen shirts with collars before I was satisfied with those. Sleeves and collars do not take four months to learn, or even longer.
